Meet the Family

Jodey Levy

Jodey Levy was raised on a small farm in New Ross, Nova Scotia.  Growing up on the farm, you could find Jodey tagging along with his father as often as possible.  Whether it was on the tractor, watching him cut a load of wood, or in the barn shovelling manure — Jodey was passionate at a young age to take part in the family business - Farming & Forestry.

At age ten, Levy began working with his father to provide his family’s firewood for the winter.  Jodey’s father always said “there is no money in farming”, and that it was better to get a trade — so, that is what Jodey did.  He graduated high school and went to college to become a machinist, which sustained the family for 20 years.

Jodey’s business ventures in Farming & Forestry began on a small scale after son Dawson was born in 2002. At the time, the focus was on harvesting Christmas Trees.  This was all that time permitted with a full time job as a Machinist.  

As the years went on, Jodey could no longer ignore his passion to start his own Business. This is when D.J. Levy Farms & Forestry was born. 

Jodey and family inherited the family farm house, Christmas tree land, as well as a significant piece of woodland, which has supported Jodey’s dreams for the past 18 years.  Recently, Levy resigned from his job in preparation to scale the DJ Levy Farm & Forestry brand, company, and client base.  A Business including several services, without being limited to anything new, the DJ Levy team is here to serve you!  

Aimée Levy

Aimée Levy’s younger years were spent in the city of Halifax, Nova Scotia. It all began when she moved to Hubbards, NS, and met Jodey in high school. Together for 20 years, Aimée has been by Jodey’s side since the beginning stages of the Business. Aimee is passionate about farming, horses, and most importantly - family.

Josh Levy

Josh Levy is a New Ross, NS native, and Jodey’s nephew.  Josh has grown up working in the family business, just as Jodey and his own father did before him.  Josh is a tremendous asset to the DJ Levy team, as a devoted worker and intelligent business partner.  Josh is a family man, who has just started his own family.

Brooklynn Levy

Brooklynn Levy is the second child born to Aimée and Jodey. She is a talented equestrian, competing in many competitions over the years. Brooklynn has dabbled in helping other young riders learn the basics, and has a strong passion for the equestrian world. Brooklynn recently purchased an OTTB from Woodbine Race Track, Ontario, Sailum.

Dawson Levy

The first son of Aimée and Jodey, Dawson was born in 2002 , and has had a love for tractors and cattle since just 2 years of age. There was no denying that Dawson would become an integral part of the family business, taking every job on with a can-do attitude! Dawson’s passions range from fishing to farming, to forestry. Dawson is also a volunteer firefighter in New Ross.

Henley Levy

Henley is the newest member of the Levy Family! Born on June 22, 2020, Henley is already beginning her work on the farm as brand ambassador!
